Why Did Bitcoin Fall? Can We Say We’ve Entered a Bear Market? Bloomberg Analyst McGlone Evaluates

Markets are reeling as Bitcoin plummets into bear market territory, erasing all of its gains from 2025.

This sharp decline led to liquidations of over $1.1 billion, with an additional $2 billion outflow from digital asset products.

Cryptocurrency markets are facing a massive sell-off, led by Bitcoin. The largest has officially entered a bear market, reversing all gains made through 2025. This decline has triggered a massive liquidation storm that has claimed over $1.1 billion in the markets.

The sudden market crash was discussed in a discussion among macro strategists broadcast on the “The Wolf of All Streets” YouTube channel. Analysts warned that the current extreme volatility and cascading liquidations are reminiscent of past major market crashes.

Bloomberg Senior Commodity Strategist Mike McGlone expressed concern about whether a modern-day “Black Monday” could be imminent for cryptocurrencies and potentially even stock markets.

According to expert analysis, there are several critical factors behind this negative market sentiment:

  • Weakening Support Flows: Decreased fresh money entering the market.
  • Rising Macro Tension: External factors such as global economic uncertainties and central bank policies are increasing pressure.
  • Panic in Derivatives Markets: The prevalence of fear in futures and options markets and its reflection on spot markets.
  • Insider Selling in Technology Stocks: In addition to macroeconomic concerns, experts also noted heavy insider selling in technology stocks.

McGlone believes this isn’t a “false correction,” but rather the start of an accelerating bear market and a period of “dominoes” falling. He believes Bitcoin will continue to lead the decline until the macroeconomic outlook improves.
