BitMEX Research has outlined about what a bitcoin network is anticipated to release this summer in its recently released longread

The analytical and Research and Development department of Tier 1 crypto exchange and derivative platform BitMEX has released a sort of a review of upcoming softfork. BitMEX Research has put up a full length review of OP_CTV Bitcoin Softfork and also the high spirited actions and individuals regarding its implementation has started with.

Experts at BitMEX Research explained that it is proposed for modifying the opcode that is primitive code or the instruction that allows the programming of bitcoin operations. The opcode OP_NOP4 is to allow users of the bitcoin (BTC) network to create their specific addresses.

Besides the new proposal titled as OP_CTV, Check Template Verify, that works for allowing users for committing to spend a bitcoin output and hence sending the funds in BTC. Although these would take place under only certain restricted conditions.

Such conditions that required to allow bitcoin (BTC) spendings from some new types of addresses should already have been committed to a hash specifically. This mechanism is sometimes called a covenant.

While introducing the modification, this would be a soft fork upgrade of the prominent bitcoin (BTC) network. The upgrade was first proposed by Jeremy Rubin who already has announced the approaching activation of the project. The project is assumed to get passed and if it does so, the OP_CTV hard fork will live this summer and bitcoin(BTC) nodes will get started signaling its support on 5th May 2022.

To a larger extent the upgrade will initiate for preventing the bitcoin network from facing blockage or congestion and allow its users to launch their vaults. Currently, the vaults can be created following the procedure of pre signing transactions and then afterward destroying the private keys, but this is a quite challenging procedure.

However the implementation of the proposal has received criticism from some bitcoin (BTC) users but it still is organizing at a fast pace. Specifically, the upgrade OP_CTV has only a few and limited use cases and it’s not at all even urgent.

In addition to this, some think that a more advanced alternative covenant solution might emerge in case where most bitcoin (BTC) developers will be opposing this upgrade implementation more likely. As per the BitMEX research experts, the consensus will not reach at least for the next six months.
