Tomorrow’s Price of Bitcoin is the Least Interesting Part: Says PayPal’s CEO

  • PayPal’s CEO Dan Schulman recently shared his views on the crypto industry and its potential in a recent speech.
  • The kind of utility they can provide in payments is the real exciting thing about digital currencies, highlights the CEO.
  • PayPal is also exploring its cryptocurrency in the form of stablecoins and is quite optimistic in the case of the crypto sector.

Dan Schulman, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PayPal, has recently expressed his views on the crypto industry. He cited his positive stands on cryptocurrencies in a recent speech, where he said that the amalgamation of all these assets and products could reshape the monetary sector.

Highlighting his views about CBDCs, he said Central Banks are looking at issuing digital currencies across the world. For him, the intersections between the digital assets, CBDC, digital wallets, and stablecoins and the enhanced utility of the payments via cryptocurrencies is not only fascinating, but he thinks it will redefine a lot of the financial world going forward.

It seems like the discussions about Bitcoin’s USD value and the forecasts about its movements in the coming years do not really affect Schulman’s positive stance about Bitcoin. For him, the plus points of the digital asset industry and the ability to positively impact the finance industry stand out.

He highlights that he is very excited about what the crypto and digital ledger industry could do to the financial sector. And he thinks that the first thing that comes to people’s minds about crypto, buying and selling, and the Bitcoin’s price that is going to be tomorrow, but that is the least interesting thing about digital currencies for him.

Paypal’s CEO has been very much inclined towards the idea of cryptocurrencies lately and admitted in the year 2019 that he owns some Bitcoin (BTC). PayPal, his payment processor company, has already integrated the idea of digital assets, as the giant recently introduced an application called Super wallet that includes digital assets services.

And initially, in the years, the giant also announced that it plans to develop its own cryptocurrency, which will be a stablecoin, most probably pegged to the US dollar.

The Crypto Industry sees optimistic predictions from someone or the other almost every day. And one such person who shares similar views as that of Schulman is Mike Novogratz, the CEO of Galaxy Digital. Only last week, he predicted that crypto and blockchain technology would reshape the world in ways we can’t imagine.

The CEO of Galaxy Digital further believes that Biden’s executive order would positively impact the crypto industry.

The crypto industry is a volatile one that often witnesses a lot of varied views and opinions from several prominent entities. Despite the skepticism, it has made a considerable position in the finance world. And it is looking forward to how the industry further evolves and what factors further affect it.
