Strategy Stuns With New $26 Million Bitcoin Buy, Now Holding 592,345 BTC

Michael Saylor, a vocal Bitcoin evangelist and the executive chairman at Strategy (formerly known as MicroStrategy) has just announced that his Bitcoin treasury company has added another Bitcoin lump to its BTC stash.

Another 245 BTC have been acquired for approximately $26 million at roughly $105,856 per Bitcoin, according to his tweet. As of June 22, the company holds a total of 592,345 BTC, leaving the half-million-Bitcoin milestone further behind. This amount of BTC was acquired for roughly $41.87 billion BTC and is currently valued at $59,962,077.

Saylor’s tweet also revealed that the company has managed to achieve a Bitcoin yield of 19.2% year-to-date.

On Sunday, Saylor, traditionally, published an infographic about Strategy accumulating Bitcoin. Each purchase was marked with an orange dot on it, orange being the colour associated with BTC. He hinted at a new Bitcoin accumulation with just four words: “Nothing Stops This Orange.”

Today, Bitcoin plunged below the $100,000 level, while Saylor pointed out that the new Bitcoin acquisition was made at $105,856, meaning they bought the 245 Bitcoins just before the price dipped.

Metaplanet buys 1,111 BTC

Earlier today, a Strategy follower, Metaplanet, also announced a new Bitcoin acquisition. It surpassed the purchase made by Saylor’s company today, as Metaplanet bought 1,111 Bitcoins at approximately $118.2 million at around $106,408 per Bitcoin.

Metaplanet has reached a Bitcoin yield of 306.7% year-to-date this year. Currently, it holds 11,111 BTC bought for approximately $1.07 billion and now valued at $1,128,106,496.

Recently, the CEO, Simon Gerovich, published an ambitious plan, according to which Metaplanet intends to hold 210,000 Bitcoins by 2027. This year, the company plans to increase its current holdings to 30,000 BTC. By the end of 2026, they plan to hold 100,000 Bitcoins, and by the end of 2027, the aforementioned 210,000 BTC (this figure mirrors the total Bitcoin supply of 21,000,000 coins).
