Michael Saylor’s firm, Strategy Inc, has expanded its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy with a fresh $1 billion purchase. This has pushed total holdings close to 781,000 BTC.
$1 Billion Bitcoin Buy Extends Accumulation Streak
In a new update, Strategy confirmed it acquired 13,927 BTC between April 6 and April 12 at an average price of $71,902 per coin. The purchase brings the company’s total Bitcoin stash to 780,897 BTC. This Bitcoin war chest comes at a cumulative investment of roughly $59.02 billion, with an average cost of $75,577 per BTC.
The latest buy reinforces Strategy’s position as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. It continues a multi-year strategy of using capital markets to accumulate the asset.
BTC Yield Climbs to 5.6% in 2026
Saylor also revealed that Strategy has achieved a Bitcoin yield of 5.6% year-to-date in 2026, highlighting the firm’s internal performance metric tied to its BTC strategy. The yield reflects gains generated relative to its Bitcoin holdings, a key figure the company often cites to justify continued accumulation.
Stock Sales Fund Bitcoin Purchases
According to the company’s SEC filing, the latest acquisition was funded through its at-the-market (ATM) equity program, particularly via sales of its STRC preferred stock.
- Over 10 million STRC shares were sold during the period
- The sales generated approximately $1.00 billion in net proceeds
- Funds were directly deployed into Bitcoin purchases
Meanwhile, Strategy still retains significant fundraising capacity, with tens of billions of dollars in remaining issuance potential across multiple securities offerings, including STRC and MSTR stock programs.
The filing also notes expanded offerings announced in March, including $21 billion increases for both STRC and MSTR stock programs. These mechanisms suggest that Strategy is preparing to continue raising capital at scale to fund further Bitcoin acquisitions.
With nearly 781,000 BTC already accumulated, the company’s ongoing strategy highlights its conviction in Bitcoin as a long-term treasury reserve asset, even as market conditions remain volatile.
