Ethereum could be gearing up for a dramatic move that puts it ahead of Bitcoin, says Galaxy Digital CEO Michael Novogratz.
In a recent appearance on CNBC, the longtime crypto advocate pointed to growing institutional demand for ETH as a key force behind its recent surge—and suggested this momentum may only be the beginning.
Novogratz believes Ethereum is on the verge of a supply squeeze that could give it the upper hand over Bitcoin. “We could see ETH overtake BTC in the next three to six months,” he said, citing how fast Ethereum has rebounded and how compelling its growth narrative has become.
One factor fueling this rise is the shift in corporate treasury strategies. According to Novogratz, several public companies are adopting a playbook similar to the one popularized by Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy). But instead of accumulating Bitcoin, they’re now targeting Ethereum. This new wave of capital inflow, he claims, is giving ETH a noticeable edge in the market.
He also gave his own forecast for Bitcoin, predicting it could hit $150,000 before the end of the year. That projection aligns with even more bullish takes in the industry, including BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes, who sees BTC reaching $250,000 and ETH soaring as high as $10,000.
With both retail and institutional attention growing, the next few months could prove decisive in the battle for crypto dominance.
