SpaceX has moved $268.5 million of its Bitcoin holdings, marking its first blockchain activity in three months, according to blockchain analytics platform Arkham Intelligence.

SpaceX Moves BTC After 3-Month Silence

The data shows that the aerospace company moved 2,495 BTC tokens to multiple wallet addresses. According to data from Bitcointreasuries.net, SpaceX currently has 8,285 Bitcoin, or $988.89 million worth of the token, on its balance sheet. That puts the company among the largest corporate Bitcoin holders globally, behind names like Strategy and MARA.

The Elon Musk-owned rocket company last moved its Bitcoin on July 22, 2025, transferring $153 million worth of Bitcoin.

The firm’s reasons for recently moving its Bitcoin were not immediately clear. Notably, the receiving wallets are unlabeled, and no onward transfer has been observed.

It remains unclear whether this latest transfer signals a sale, an internal treasury strategic adjustment, or something else entirely. However, crypto pundit Aunt Ai (ai_9684xtpa) suggested in a post on X that the BTC transfer may be part of SpaceX’s wallet reorganization. According to the analyst, the July transfer, for instance, was later rediscovered as the firm’s interactions with a custody address on Coinbase Prime.

SpaceX first disclosed holding BTC in July 2021. The company reportedly decreased its holdings by roughly 70%, likely due to the market-wide shock caused by the spectacular implosion of the Terra-Luna ecosystem in May, the collapse of Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX in November, and the subsequent ripple effect. The company has not increased its BTC holdings since.

Musk’s EV maker Tesla also holds $1.24 billion worth of the premier crypto, according to data from Bicointreasuries.net.

Bitcoin was recently trading at around $109,072, down 1.45% over the last 24 hours, according to crypto markets data provider CoinGecko. BTC, the industry’s oldest and largest cryptocurrency, has lost 7% of its value over the past month.
