Elon Musk, one of the biggest supporters of Dogecoin, talked about DOGE in his statement on X (formerly Twitter) and praised DOGE again.
Speaking about the criticisms about Dogecoin’s unlimited supply and inflation, Musk said, “I think Dogecoin’s flat inflation, that is, proportionally decreasing inflation, is a feature, not a bug.”
DOGE does not have a limited supply like Bitcoin, which is a frequent criticism from cryptocurrency advocates. In fact, Musk wrote this message in response to Dogecoin founder Billy Markus’ statement on the subject of inflation.
Markus reproachfully said that there is a way to remove inflation from DOGE mechanics and showed the part of DOGE’s open source code that needs to be edited to change this. He said that an official request should be made about this first, and that the community and miners must be convinced. He also added that he is tired of the questions asked about inflation.
Markus is not currently involved in DOGE management and sold all of his Dogecoin holdings years ago.
Elon Musk, on the other hand, has not shared directly about Dogecoin for a long time.
Interestingly, the Bitcoin price fell from its peak of around $93,000 after Musk’s statement and is trading at $91,880 at the time of writing.
