- Wine, a Brazilian wine club, now allows its customers to make purchases using Bitcoin via their mobile application.
- A fintech service provider, Redecoin has successfully integrated Bitcoin as a payment option for Wine.
- Armin Altweger, CEO of SCF Brazil Group, Redecoin’s parent company, says that their goal is to popularize the use of digital assets in the everyday life of Brazilians, and it is moving towards it through this collaboration.
According to the reports of Consumidor Moderno, customers at Wine, a Brazilian wine club, can now buy things using Bitcoin through their mobile app.
After purchasing whatever they want, the customers are redirected to a checkout screen that also has Bitcoin as a payment option. After selecting Bitcoin as a payment option, a QR code will appear, enabling customers to use the Bitcoin Lightning Network as an instantaneous payment method.
Redecoin, a company offering fintech services and whose parent company is SFC Brazil Group, made the integration enabling Bitcoin as a payment option possible.
SCF Brazil Group CEO Armin Altweger revealed it aims to make the use of cryptocurrencies popular in the day-to-day lives of Brazilians, and this collaboration will take the firm in the direction of its goal.
SCF Brazil Group and Wine share a mutual vision of the adoption and innovation of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin. Clayton Freire, Director of Technology at Wine, believes that the customers are getting more and more connected with digital assets already a part of their daily lives.
Freire reveals that its decision to make an investment in this innovation is to bring its partners and customers an even more complete experience and also due to the fact that this form of payment will be more frequent in the near future.
Although, as of now, only mobile applications support this integration, Wine plans to launch the feature on mobile sites and desktops along with Wine Services.
Further, Freire explained that they are going to adopt the new payment method and enhance their systems. The team also plans to work together with internal customer service that would assist them in getting feedback.
Brazil acquired the 14th spot among the 154 countries that have embraced Cryptoasssts, according to a report from Chainalysis. However, Brazil is in the 3rd position in terms of total traded volume, according to the report by Consumidor Moderno. Wine is optimistic regarding the future of new payment methods with the increasing interest in cryptocurrency.
