Institutional appetite for Bitcoin has surged to a new 2025 high, according to a report by analyst Darkfost, shared by CryptoQuant.
A key indicator of this momentum is the Coinbase Premium Gap, which has climbed to 55 on its 30-day moving average—its highest level this year.

While the 30-day average of ETF inflows remains strong, consistently exceeding $330 million daily, the report emphasizes that these flows are not the definitive sign of institutional dominance. ETFs are broadly accessible and attract retail investors as well, not just institutions.
The more telling signal lies in the Coinbase Premium Gap, which measures the price difference between U.S.-focused Coinbase Pro and global exchange Binance.
The sustained positive premium indicates that U.S.-based investors—largely institutions and professional traders—are paying above global averages to secure Bitcoin exposure.
This marks the third major peak in premium levels over the past year, following previous highs of 53 and 43, both of which aligned with bullish Bitcoin momentum. Now, with BTC holding above $107,000, this premium level reinforces the narrative of institutional accumulation driving the current market cycle.
