Eric Trump, the Executive Vice President of the Trump organization shared his views about crypto and Bitcoin at the Bitcoin MENA event in Abu Dhabi on December 10, 2024.

Eric shared his excitement about being in the UAE and appreciated the country. With a belief that America will be leading in the digital revolution, Eric declared that America is going to be the crypto capital of the world.

President-elect Donald Trump’s son, Eric, recalled a 6-month-old conversation with his close friend when he said “Bitcoin is funny money. Crypto is funny money.” Subsequently, the bank which his friend works for, has a crypto desk now and has been investing heavily in cryptocurrency.

With a family background in finance and real estate, Eric Trump shared how real estate has always been the bedrock of wealth creation for its value and tangibility. “Bitcoin is not just an investment, it’s a global asset. It’s a store of values. It’s a hedge against inflation and political turmoil and instability… that’s what makes it so powerful,” he added.

Is Cryptocurrency a Threat to the Traditional Financial System?

Eric Trump discussed how Bitcoin is not just another asset, it’s a solution because it represents a new financial paradigm that’s decentralized, transparent, and empowering. It allows people to store and transfer value, and grow their wealth without relying on the very financial system.

“It has left behind 99% of the people in the world. If you are part of the top 1%, the traditional finance system is great,” he added.

Subsequently, he said “this technology is the greatest disruption to the modern financial system. There is no question that the institutions are petrified.”

Eric Discussed the Benefits and Future of BTC

Eric appreciated Michael Saylor and called him a national treasure. Additionally, he discussed the scarcity of BTC (Bitcoin’s total supply is fixed at 21 Million coins) and why it was valuable.

“Unlike real estate, Bitcoin is not tied to geography. It is global and instantly liquid. It is borderless. Bitcoin can be transferred, sold, or moved with the click of a button. It’s a global currency, it doesn’t rely on banking systems,” he added.

Praising the existence of BTC, Eric discussed how it is inclusive and allows everybody to participate without the need for banks, middlemen, or brokers. He is optimistic about the crypto’s future in the next decade.

Trump anticipates a global economy where even banks and governments have integrated Bitcoin into their systems.

Eric Trump Believes America Will Lead the Crypto-centric Future

Eric Trump was recently interviewed by CNBC’s Dan Murphy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The interviewee shared that he had been a big fan of cryptocurrency for a long time and anticipated America to become the crypto capital of the world. “We believe in DeFi… We believe that’s the way of the future,” he said.

According to Eric Trump, America can become the crypto superpower of the world by introducing a sensible plan for regulating the crypto industry and lead by example. Trump spoke highly of Elon Musk, a pro-crypto tech billionaire and political personality in the US. Notably, Trump went on to call Musk “the modern-day Albert Einstein.”
