Binance has announced it will support a two-stage upgrade and hard fork process on the BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) network to improve user experience.

The company is preparing for technical works planned for December 16, 2025 and January 14, 2026.
As the first phase, Binance will perform maintenance on BEP20 wallets on December 16, 2025, at 09:00.
Therefore, deposit and withdrawal operations for tokens on the BNB Smart Chain network will be temporarily suspended as of 08:55 on the same day. The maintenance is expected to last approximately one hour, after which operations will resume.
The main upgrade and hard fork step for the network will take place on January 14, 2026, at 05:30. Prior to this date, Binance will suspend deposit and withdrawal operations for tokens on the BEP20 network starting at 05:25. The company specifically emphasized that transaction services will not be interrupted and token trading will continue as normal.
Binance stated that all technical requirements will be managed by them on behalf of users. Once the new upgrade is confirmed to be stable, deposits and withdrawals will be automatically reopened and no further announcement will be made.
