Bitcoin ETF Inflows Stall as Price Pullback Sparks Profit-Taking

Investor appetite for spot Bitcoin ETFs cooled this week after a months-long streak of inflows.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) saw $292.5 million in outflows on Monday—its largest since May—following a smaller exit on Friday that ended a 37-day run of inflows.

The pullback came as Bitcoin dropped to $112,300 over the weekend, marking an 8.5% slide from its July 14 peak before recovering to $115,000. Despite the dip, IBIT still recorded $5.2 billion in net inflows last month alone.

Other funds also saw movement. Fidelity’s FBTC lost $40 million, Grayscale’s GBTC shed $10 million, while Bitwise’s BITB stood out with an $18.7 million inflow. The sector, overall, marked its third day of net outflows.

Zooming out, institutional demand for crypto remains strong. Digital asset funds have drawn $60 billion in inflows so far this year, outpacing traditional alternatives like private equity, according to Bloomberg analysts.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s volatility has eased since ETF launches began. BlackRock’s IBIT now shows a 90-day volatility below 40—down from over 60 in January—making the asset more attractive to institutional investors seeking stability.
