 
 
According to a prominent industry commentator, if Bitcoin continues its meteoric rise, Satoshi Nakamoto’s estimated 1.1 million BTC stash could soon surpass the net worth of well-known crypto skeptic and investment titan Warren Buffett.
Bitcoin’s Price Upsurge Boosts Satoshi’s Fortune
The pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, whose true identity remains a mystery, will soon overtake the billionaire investor Warren Buffett in wealth.
Bitcoin historian and journalist Pete Rizzo noted in a post on X that Satoshi is about to outrank Buffett and become the tenth wealthiest person in the world.
At Bitcoin’s current price, Nakamoto’s holding is worth over $129 billion, ranking him the 11th wealthiest person in the world, and he is now still behind Buffett’s net worth of approximately $143.2 billion as of 2025. Nakamoto would need about $14.2 billion more to surpass Buffett’s fortune.
Meanwhile, the former Berkshire Hathaway CEO has never cottoned to Bitcoin, infamously calling the alpha crypto “rat poison squared” in a May 2018 interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box”. He remained skeptical of its usefulness, even after meeting with some of the industry’s most powerful advocates, such as Tron founder Justin Sun.
 
His best friend, the late Charlie Munger, went a step further and predicted that BTC’s price would crash to zero, calling it a disgusting product used by kidnappers and extortionists, in his statement in 2021.
A Billionaire Who Never Cashed Out
Despite creating something as insanely successful as Bitcoin, Satoshi has never moved or spent a single BTC from the original wallets since he disappeared from public view in 2010, further adding to the mystery surrounding his identity.
Satoshi’s stockpile represents approximately 5% of Bitcoin’s 21 million supply, making him the largest single BTC holder.
Over the past few days, the world’s oldest and largest cryptocurrency has exhibited a parabolic spike, jumping from around $108,920 to a new all-time high of $118,667 on Friday.
