The Bitcoin network went through several updates that made unprecedented changes to its blockchain, from Bitcoin Ordinals Inscriptions to the BRC-20 standard, and now it’s time for artificial intelligence (AI). Though not a direct application on the blockchain, it is very much related to it. The AI frenzy and curiosity to know the perspective of Bitcoin creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, has resulted in “Talk2Satoshi”.
Bitcoin FilmFest co-organizer and developer, Pierre Corbin, released on Wednesday, May 31, an AI chatbot dubbed Talk2Satoshi. While announcing the project over Twitter, he asserted the chatbot intends to provide the answers to questions about Bitcoin (BTC) and general economics. The bot, co-developed by Hugo Ferrer, pretends to provide the answers as Nakamoto himself is presenting them.
As Corbin noted in his post about the “newest project,” the model is primarily based on ChatGPT, OpenAI’s AI chatbot. He even called it “the Bitcoin GPT.”
The Goal of Spreading Bitcoin Education
Akin to other AI chatbots, the Bitcoin GPT is also trained with a data set, though relatively with limited sources. For starters, it includes public emails and posts uploaded on forums by Satoshi Nakamoto. In addition, it has been fed with information from other sources like The Bitcoin Standard book by Saidean Ammous, The Price of Tomorrow from Jeff Booth, and a film by Corbin named The Great Reset and the Rise of Bitcoin. Other than these, there were several other sources to train the Bitcoin-focused chatbot.
While explaining the intention behind the creation of Talk2Satoshi, Corbin asserted its goal that the tool can get integrated with “bitcoin companies and educators.” This will help to “unlock the potential” and use the large language models (LLMs) on their platforms for the better.
Additionally, he noted that since it’s the first version (v1), it could be slow and can have little data. But he assured the people to build new functionalities in the future.
The Bitcoin GPT Requires More Training and Information
Talk2Satoshi works very similarly to other existing chatbots. It provides the answers based on its training and cites the sources for its explanation of a specific subject.
TheCoinRepublic asked a couple of questions to the Bitcoin GPT, where one question was from the suggested question template, while the others were asked by our team. Here are the responses from the chatbot:
Despite the limited sources of information, the chatbot manages to answer the queries. However, it still needs to be trained and updated with the latest upgrades and information. For instance, sometimes, with the change of prompts, the answers could be contradicting even for similar queries. Also, it does not have quite an information on instances like BRC-20 token standards, etc. The limitation could be because of its sources.
