At the Bitcoin 2025 Conference, MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor delivered a bold projection: if Wall Street allocates just 10% of its capital into Bitcoin, the flagship cryptocurrency could soar to $1 million per coin.
Saylor framed Bitcoin as a global asset still in the early stages of institutional adoption. According to him, even a 5% Wall Street allocation would only represent a small share of the total Bitcoin market capitalization—meaning that 95% of Bitcoin holders would still be outside traditional finance.
“When Wall Street owns 5% of BTC,” Saylor explained, “that means 95% of the $2.5 trillion value is still in the hands of everyone else.” He noted that a rise in institutional investment doesn’t diminish the decentralized nature of Bitcoin; instead, it amplifies the value held by others.
$2 Trillion Benefit to the Public
Saylor emphasized the wealth-creating impact of Bitcoin’s rise, citing MicroStrategy’s own gains as a small fraction of the overall benefit to global holders.
“We made $20 billion,” he said, “but everyone else made $2.2 trillion. That’s the kind of wealth redistribution that Bitcoin enables. It’s not just a win for institutions—it’s a win for everyone holding BTC.”
Bitcoin’s Hostile Takeover Resistance
Saylor also explained why Bitcoin can’t be co-opted or taken over by any single entity, including large financial institutions. “The more aggressively you buy Bitcoin,” he said, “the more you empower those who disagree with you. It’s an asset that reinforces decentralization.”
This characteristic, according to Saylor, makes Bitcoin unique among assets—offering both protection and empowerment to holders, regardless of their size or influence.
The Road to $1 Million
Saylor concluded that once institutional adoption reaches 10%, the total market cap of Bitcoin could exceed $20 trillion, pushing the price toward $1 million per coin. But importantly, the majority of that wealth won’t belong to Wall Street—it will belong to early adopters, individual holders, and entities around the world.
