Crypto Community Supported ZachXBT, Donates $1M Against Lawsuit

Jefferey Huang has slandered ZachXBT for a post remark on Twitter. The remarks were made in 2022 which declared Machi Big Brother had stolen 22,000Eth from the crypto management firm, Formosa FInancial.

Following this, the charges were made that the allegations were false and the company is making profits from such tweets. Further expanding it, Jefferey said the profits are made by per click count on articles and even by attaching the link for donations.

Jefferey emphasised the donation links were basically to fund his lifestyle expenses and they were made by defaming Huang’s reputation. ZachXbt lacks any such evidence to prove the tweets claiming the stolen amount.

False Allegations Reason Behind Lawsuit

The lack of evidence and false allegations are the reasons for the lawsuit against ZachXBT. Further clearing the motive behind the lawsuit, Jefferey said he was ineffectual in putting the comments down on Twitter. Thus, he is seeking the help of law and that he also needs compensation for false accusations made to hamper his reputation.

Jefferey Huang is a well known NFT trader who came to limelight after declaring the defamation case against the on-chain internet crypto sleuth, ZachXBT. He filed the lawsuit claiming malicious promotion of the article which declared the Taiwanese-American entrepreneur as a thief. The article was published a year before, on June 16th, 2022.

The article declared $37 Million worth ETH was asserted from the treasury management platform, Formosa Financial in 2018, and showed the former musician Jefferey as a criminal. The refusal by ZachXBT for putting the medium article and tweets down led to the ongoing lawsuit.

ZachXBT Gets Enormous Support from the Crypto Industry

To these ongoing charges, ZachXBT responded by comprehending the legal action as baseless and that it is a way to silence the right of free speech. He clarified the donations are not for his personal expense; instead, it is for bearing the cost of lawsuit. Furthermore, the extra amount will be refunded on a pro rata basis.

As per Etherscan the posted wallet address to Twitter shows a current balance of 33ETH or $57,000. ZachXBT posted EVM chains are accepted and stablecoins are preferred. He further added it is a classic David and Goliath story, and how Huang is very rich but he is not so rich to afford the cost of defamation. He is asking for help so that truth can not be silenced while he is using the money to silence honesty.

ZachXBT has got immense support on Twitter and some comments like even if its a marketing tactic then also the crypto community is bonding together for a common cause. The online detective has raised a support of $1M from the crypto Twitter community.

In the last 24 hours, it has received a donation of $850K from the leading voices of the industry. One of the biggest help comes from Memeland which is a Web3 venture studio donating 6.9ETH, worth $12,000 to the cause. People are supporting the cause of defending free speech. Overall, ZachXBT is receiving notable help from the crypto community.
