A’ja Wilson And Breanna Stewart Lead 2023 WNBA All-Star Fan Voting

Will they once again be tapped as the All-Star Captains?

Today, the WNBA released the leading vote-getters through the first week of fan voting for the 2023 WNBA All-Star Weekend. Reigning two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) and 2018 WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty) lead the voting.

Wilson leads all players with 35,968 votes with Stewart (32,926) the only other player to break 32,000 votes. Brittney Griner, Aliyah Boston, and Jackie Young round out the Top Five players.

If voting ended with this tally, the top six frontcourt players and the top four guards would be named All-Star Starters. Here’s what that lineup would look like:

The Las Vegas Aces would lead all teams with three starters, followed by the Dallas Wings who have two players in the Top 10 (Arike Ogunbowale and Satou Sabally). At the moment, Las Vegas guard Chelsea Gray is on the outside looking in once again. Indiana Fever rookie Aliyah Boston is on pace to start in her first-ever WNBA All-Star Weekend.

The official 10 All-Star starters, including the two captains, will be revealed on Sunday, June 25. The league head coaches will select the 12 reserve spots to fill out the 2023 WNBA All-Star rosters.

As of now, it would take a lot to bump Wilson or Stewart out of the Top 2, which means they will likely be All-Star captains once again. We’ve seen A’ja and Stewie have fun with the WNBA Draft, including trades.

Once again, ESPN will broadcast the WNBA All-Star Team Selection Special on Saturday, July 8 (1 p.m. ET). Will we see more fun antics between the two USA Basketball teammates?

I will once again have a media vote, so I will not share my picks now. I’ll wait to see how the final vote turns out and then reveal my picks. However, I look forward to seeing fans share their rosters. Fans can vote once a day from now until Wednesday, June 21 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

How to vote:

• Desktop and mobile web: To vote online from a desktop or mobile device, fans should visit the official WNBA All-Star 2023 ballot page at vote.wnba.com. Fans may vote for a minimum of one player and maximum of 10, through submitting one full ballot per day (defined as once every 24 hours) including the selection of up to four guards and six frontcourt players regardless of conference.
• WNBA App: To vote through the WNBA App using iOS or Android devices, fans can simply open the WNBA App and view the WNBA All-Star Voting story on the Homepage. It will include short-form content that drives awareness of key dates and information and will also include a link that drives directly to the ASW voting page. A seamless experience that allows fans to vote all while staying within our App. Additionally, fans can visit the WNBA All-Star Voting ballot page via the “More” menu in the bottom menu bar navigation of the App. Fans may vote for a minimum of one player and maximum of 10, through submitting one full ballot per day (defined as once every 24 hours) including the selection of up to four guards and six frontcourt players regardless of conference. • Instagram: Fans may comment under an official voting post coming from the WNBA Instagram account or 12 team’s accounts with a hashtag of a WNBA player’s first and last name (#FirstNameLastName) or Instagram handle. Comments must include the WNBA All-Star hashtag – #WNBAAllStar – in order to be valid. Each individual comment may include only one player’s name or handle. Fans may submit a maximum of 10 unique player valid votes per Instagram profile per day (defined as once every 24 hours). Each of the up to 10 votes per day must be for a different WNBA player.
