Beyonce Kicks Off Tour In Europe—Here’s What We Know

Topline

Beyoncé’s first solo tour in seven years kicked off Wednesday in Stockholm, Sweden, with fans scouring social media for any details from the singer’s three-hour show, after she stayed tight-lipped about the specifics in the lead-up to the performance.

Key Facts

Beyoncé began her set with the song “Dangerously In Love” from her most recent album Renaissance, Variety reported.

Along with songs from her most recent album, Beyoncé reportedly played crowd favorites from previous albums including “Diva,” “Partition,” “Crazy In Love” and “Love On Top.”

At one point during her performance, Beyoncé took to the stage to perform the chart-topping hit “Savage Remix,” a song she usually sang alongside rapper Megan Thee Stallion, according to Variety.

Before the show began, the set appeared to display a pride flag, and at one point while singing the song “COZY,” Beyoncé danced alongside two robot arms, Vulture reported.

What To Watch For

The singer will make her way across Europe before arriving in North America in June for the second leg of her tour, with at least 40 shows, her last one in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 27.

Key Background

When Beyoncé tickets went on sale in February for her now sold-out tour, Billboard estimated her months-long tour would generate between $275 million and $428 million in ticket revenue alone. That was before the singer increased her tour from 41 stops to 57. This is Beyoncé’s first solo tour since her 2016 shows for the album Lemonade. She most recently performed at a private event at the Atlantis Royal Resort in Dubai in January, marking her first full concert in four years. Before that in 2018, she joined her husband, Jay-Z, for the On the Run II tour for their joint album Everything Is Love.

Forbes Valuation

We estimate Beyoncé was worth $450 million as of last June, ranking 61 on Forbes’ 2022 list of Self-Made Women.

Big Number

$24 million. That’s how much the singer was paid for her January performance in Dubai, according to multiple news outlets, marking one of the most expensive private performances on record.
