Drake Continues To Reign As The Undisputed King Of Billboard’s Streaming Songs Chart

Canadian rapper and singer Drake has once again broken records on the Billboard charts. This time around, it’s thanks to his latest single “Search & Rescue,” which has wasted no time in becoming another major win for the superstar.

“Search & Rescue” debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart, which ranks the tunes that rack up the most streams in the U.S. every week. The track was played 33.8 million times on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music in its first seven days of availability, according to data shared by Luminate, the company that powers the Billboard charts.

As “Search & Rescue” arrives atop the tally, Drake furthers his lead for the most champions in the history of the Streaming Songs chart…and it’s no one is even close to him.

With “Search & Rescue” running the show, Drake now claims 16 No. 1s on the Streaming Songs chart. He is now 10 leaders in front of his closest competitors, according to Billboard. At present, both Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift are currently tied for second place behind the rapper, as the two Grammy winners and pop powerhouses have both accrued half a dozen No. 1s on the list. For those counting, that’s less than half of Drake’s total.

Drake’s supremacy this week with “Search & Rescue” doesn’t stop there. On the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart, “Search & Rescue” marks the hip-hop titan’s nineteenth champion. He now has an edge of eight leaders over the runner-up, The Weeknd, who has nabbed a total of eight chart-toppers on that specific chart.

Unsurprisingly, “Search & Rescue” also debuts at No. 1 on the Rap Streaming Songs chart, where Drake’s lead is just as impressive as on the all-genre tally. With “Search & Rescue,” the multi-hyphenate now has sixteen chart-toppers, which places him ahead of Lil Baby by eight winners.

Somewhat disappointing for Drake, “Search & Rescue” only manages to debut at No. 2 on the Hot 100, the chart that measures overall song popularity across various metrics. He was likely shooting for the throne, but he was blocked by Morgan Wallen’s unstoppable “Last Night.” “Search & Rescue” is Drake’s sixty-eighth song to make it to the Hot 100’s top 10, and with this new appearance, he extends his previously-set record for the most top 10 smashes in the most important songs chart’s history.
