In a tweet on Thursday, Greene identified Teixeira as “white, male, christian, and antiwar” and said this makes him “an enemy to the Biden regime.”
The Georgia lawmaker then implied that President Joe Biden’s administration was “the real enemy” for “waging war in Ukraine…against nuclear Russia without war powers.”
Greene defended Teixeira’s leaks saying he revealed the truth about “troops being on the ground in Ukraine and a lot more.”
Several other lawmakers from both parties have commented on the arrest and unlike Greene, they have praised law enforcement for making the arrest and called for the alleged leaker to be punished if found guilty.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) denounced Greene’s remarks on Twitter, saying: “McCarthy’s top lieutenant is siding with one of the biggest traitors America has seen. I’m sorry, Marge, being white, male, and Christian is not license to betray your country and put the lives of thousands at risk. But this wouldn’t be the first time she sided with traitors.”
