K-Pop Girl Group NMIXX Reaches The Billboard 200 On Their First Try With ‘Expérgo’

South Korean girl group NMIXX makes a highly-anticipated (by fans, at least) debut on this week’s Billboard 200 chart with their EP Expérgo. While the set did launch at No. 122 on the tally, the fact that the band has made any appearance at all is a sign that they’re off to a fantastic start in the United States.

The Billboard 200 is a weekly ranking of the most-consumed EPs and albums in the U.S., which combines sales, streams, and other forms of consumption.

Expérgo marks NMIXX’s first trip to the chart. According to Luminate, the EP moved just under 10,000 equivalent units in its debut tracking frame of availability, which includes all methods of consumption. Sales made up the bulk of that, with the EP being purchased 8,860 times in America.

The EP also appears on the all-genre Top Album Sales chart, which only takes into account pure purchases. Expérgo performs much better on that ranking, as it debuts at No. 13. It’s the seventh-highest-charting debut of the week.

While Expérgo may give NMIXX their first appearance on the Billboard 200, it isn’t technically their first release. Fans of the vocal group have likely snapped up their previous collections, Ad Mare and Entwurf. Although those sets did well in their home country of South Korea, they were too short to be considered for the Billboard charts.

NMIXX arrives during a busy week on the Billboard 200 for debuts, and they’re not the only high-profile South Korean musical act to debut on the chart. BTS member Jimin sees his first solo effort Face start at No. 2. Altogether, 13 newly-released albums and EPs find their way to the Billboard 200, including well-known names like Pink Floyd, Fall Out Boy, and Lana Del Rey. Three other new albums start off behind NMIXX.
