Trump Hits No. 1 With ‘Justice For All’ Song Made With Jan. 6 Arrestees

Topline

Former President Donald Trump’s new song “Justice For All”—done in collaboration with a group of people incarcerated for their role in the January 6, 2021 insurrection known as the J6 Prison Choir—was the most-sold digital song last week, according to data released by Luminate.

Key Facts

Between March 10 and 16, the song was downloaded nearly 33,000 times.

It had more than double the sales of the No. 2 most-sold song, Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” which had over 10,400 downloads.

Some 39% of the song’s downloads occurred on March 11, when its music video was released, according to Billboard.

However, “Justice For All” did not appear among the 200 most-streamed songs during that same time period, according to Luminate, which provides the data for Billboard’s charts.

A spokesperson for Kash Patel, a former staffer in the Trump administration who was involved with the song, told Forbes last week they expected to see the song on several charts.

The music video has 41,000 views on YouTube, and the song has been streamed roughly 368,000 times on Spotify.

Big Number

$1.29. That’s how much the song was selling for on iTunes, where it reached the top spot shortly after its release. Vinyl records featuring the song—for $99.99, $149.99 and $199.99—are available for sale on the J6 prison choir’s website. Profits of the song benefit the family members of those who have been incarcerated in collection to the insurrection—though recipients will be vetted to ensure funds do not go to anyone who assaulted police officers.

Key Background

On “Justice For All”—which Forbes reported on first—the choir sings the “Star Spangled Banner” as Trump recites the Pledge Of Allegiance. On the B-side of the vinyl records, fans can hear “a special bonus audio recording” from Trump. Trump recorded his portion of the song at Mar-a-lago, Forbes reported. It was released on March 3.

What To Watch For

Trump said last week he expected to be indicted on Tuesday in New York City relating to “hush money” payments he allegedly made to Stormy Daniels. However, it is not clear whether the grand jury hearing the case voted on charges on Monday, making an arrest on Tuesday unlikely.
