Hogwarts Legacy is currently only out on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 but the game isn’t stopping there. The Wizarding World RPG is slated to land on older hardware as well, including Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Originally, Hogwarts Legacy was supposed to launch on Xbox One and PS4 on April 4th—less than a month from now. Unfortunately, due to the nature of game development, the release has been delayed.
Now, Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to release on those consoles on May 5th, about a month later barring any further issues or delays.
“We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the response to Hogwarts Legacy from fans around the globe,” the tweet reads. “The team is working hard to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms and we need more time to do this.”
The Nintendo Switch port of the game is still scheduled for a July 25th release, though anything is possible and that could very well be delayed also especially given the difficulty of porting a big, graphically intense game like Hogwarts Legacy to a console that can barely play Fortnite.
Hogwarts Legacy is a massive success already with over 12 million copies sold and over $850 million in revenue, one of the biggest launches in the past few years. Hopefully the old-gen ports do it justice.
