EcoCentre finalized Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with INZ Co., Ltd and NeoGlobal Co., Ltd to promote and establish the Plastic Hero project in Japan.
The three companies finalize the agreement at EcoCentre’s headquarters in South Korea. Among the key executives who attended the meeting were NeoGlobal President Intsu Saito and CEO Sugiura, Softbank Advisor Seo Jeong-woo, TNC Group CSO G.W Lee, and EcoCentre CEO Jae-young Lee.
The Memorandums of Understanding involved promoting and establishing Plastic Hero in Japan. INZ Co., Ltd and Neo Global Co., Ltd agreed to help promote and install Plastic Hero collectors and provide platform services in the Japanese cities of Tokyo and Saitama. Furthermore, both companies will assist in establishing a waste pyrolysis plant on the site of a plastic recycling cluster in Japan.
The Plastic Hero project aims to build a sustainable system for Japan. This involves supplying and producing plastic flakes and pellets, producing eco-friendly oil, and developing plastic bottle recycling technology. These initiatives will help build a greener system, help Japan’s carbon credits business, and establish resource-saving and resource-sorting infrastructure.
EcoCentre will export the Plastic Hero platform and AI Collection Robots to Japan. Additionally, it will oversee all the necessary processes related to the establishment of Plastic Hero Japan and equity investments.
On the other hand, Neo Global will support Plastic Hero Japan’s site acquisition and operation. It will also aid in the production of facilities — such as design, procurement, and construction.
Meanwhile, INZ Co., Ltd will lead the planning, promotion, and sales for Plastic Hero Japan. The company has handled major companies such as Softbank, Sony, Sharp, and Hitachi. It has an independently formed network of 1,000 influencers and a sales network of over 10,000.
According to EcoCentre’s CEO Jae-young Lee, the company will lead new low-carbon industry projects by cooperating with global partners in Japan. EcoCentre will expand overseas to provide Korea with exports of 20 trillion won in 2023, and 100 trillion won in 2025.
The entry into the Japanese business was promoted to participate in the government’s 2050 carbon-neutral green growth strategy task to expand high value-added businesses with low-carbon industrial structures, circular economy conversion, plastic recycling raw materials, and pyrolysis systems.
