Fox News Channel’s top-rated morning show, Fox & Friends, hit a ratings milestone last week, notching its 100th consecutive week as the most-watched morning show in cable news. The program drew an average total audience of 1.259 million viewers for the week ending February 19th, far ahead of MSNBC’s Morning Joe (935,000 viewers) and CNN This Morning (348,000 viewers).
Among viewers 25-54, the key demographic group most valued by advertisers, Fox & Friends led with 185,000 viewers, followed by Morning Joe (108,000 viewers) and CNN This Morning (68,000 viewers).
For the week, Fox News dominated the competition in prime time and total day ratings, delivering an average audience in prime of 2.183 million viewers and 280,000 viewers in the key demo, according to ratings data compiled by Nielsen. Fox News was the top-rated network in all of cable television on the week. MSNBC was the third most-watched cable network, with an average prime time audience of 1.171 million viewers, while CNN finished the week in 14th place overall with an average prime time audience of 544,000 viewers.
In the key demo, Fox News Channel finished fourth overall behind TNT, ESPN and TBS, while CNN was 24th overall with 111,000 viewers, followed by MSNBC in 25th place with 110,000 viewers. Overall, Fox News Channel had 86 of the 100 most-watched telecasts for the week.
FNC’s The Five was again the highest-rated show in cable news, with a total audience of 3.356 million viewers. Tucker Carlson Tonight was second overall with 3.303 million viewers, followed by Jesse Watters Primetime (2.802 million viewers), Hannity (2.617 million viewers) and Special Report with Bret Baier (2.463 million viewers)—all airing on Fox News Channel.
In the key demo, Tucker Carlson Tonight finished the week in first place with 462,000 viewers, followed by The Five (398,000 viewers), Hannity (335,000 viewers), Jesse Watters Primetime (316,000 viewers), and Special Report with Bret Baier (277,000 viewers).
