Indonesia, one of several nations rapidly adopting cryptocurrencies, wants to build the world’s first government-backed crypto exchange by June 2023 at the earliest. The Ministry of Trade of Indonesia had planned to debut the market by the end of the previous year. But it could not go through and it is expected to now debut in the month of June.
In order to establish whether the firm is qualified to trade on the cryptocurrency market, the government is now undertaking an inquiry. Only five of the twenty-five organizations that registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) as “physical traders of crypto assets,” or crypto exchanges, are now operational.
Traders Waiting For Official Release Date
Furthermore, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan claims that the aforementioned group of five exchanges may soon be a part of the government-run cryptocurrency exchange.
Since the government had just relaxed the ban on licensing for new crypto exchanges, Zulkifli urged the people to exercise patience in the cryptocurrency sector. According to Zulkifli, the public should hold off on making any plans until the new exchange’s official release date has been announced.
Moreover, while the cryptocurrency exchange is still in progress, physical crypto-asset vendors are now facilitating trades. Clearing and custodian services are anticipated to play an important role in the finalized ecology of the developing cryptocurrency industry.
Even if the Indonesian Crypto Asset Traders Association agrees that the new effort would bring large gains, Zulkifli emphasized that it may also result in a high number of losses when discussing the possible dangers of trading digital assets.
