Disney and LucasFilm have released the key-art / poster for The Mandalorian Season 3. The poster features Mando (Pedro Pascal) standing on a spaceship, with his lil buddy Grogu / Baby Yoda sitting in the ship’s glass navigation dome behind him. Above, we see a dark planet and what appears to be a moon circling around it.
This could be Mandalore, which the Mandalorians are attempting to take back from the Empire. One of these—Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff)—is set to play a prominent role in the new season.
The Mandalorian returns for its third season on March 1st, but in many ways this is actually its fourth season since many important events in the story of Mando and Baby Yoda took place during The Book Of Boba Fett. You’ll either want to watch that show or a recap of events before diving into Season 3.
Meanwhile, as much as I do love this show I have to say it’s been eclipsed by the even better Disney+ Star Wars show, Andor, which was one of my favorite shows of 2022 and is perhaps the best Star Wars has ever been, rivaling even the original trilogy. I love that both The Mandalorian and Andor can co-exist and each offer up fans something unique and different.
Either way, I can’t wait for March 1st! And if you need your dose of Pedro Pascal ushering a young ‘un through a perilous fantasy world, definitely check out The Last Of Us on HBO. It’s really great! I’m reviewing that show and will also be reviewing The Mandalorian here on this blog.
Disney also released a new featurette for the upcoming season which you can watch below:
