Finally something the left and the right can agree on. The U.S. government electric-vehicle new purchase tax credits don’t make sense. At least the government is now accepting ideas on how to fix the mess.

Potential EV buyers got a gift in the middle of 2022 when Senator’s Chuck Schumer and Joe Manchin struck a surprise deal that paved the way for passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, a law that includes up to $7,500 off for buying a qualifying EV.
