Today’s Wordle #565 Hints, Clues And Answer For Thursday, January 5th

We’re off to a wintery, snowy, chilly January. I went on a hike earlier this week and saw an eagle lift off in the woods with something clutched in its talons. My dogs chased the massive raptor but were unsuccessful in their pursuit. Which is shocking, I know. Normally they have such an easy time chasing down birds. Silly dogs.

In any case, it’s very much winter. I’m not sure how to feel about it. Seasonal depression is a real thing and too much dark and cold can seep into your spirit after a while. Fortunately, I live somewhere that—while very snowy—is also very sunny much of the time. Plus, I’ve resolved to get into great shape and lose weight and do everything else I can do boost my ego.

Which, today at least, does not include beating Wordle Bot. He got me today. Let’s take a look!

The Clue: There’s a double letter in this word.

The Answer:

Four guesses is fine, though not great. The way I score my Wordle game is like this:

• 1 point for getting the Wordle in 3 guesses.
• 2 point for getting it in 2 guesses.
• 3 points for getting it in 1 guess.
• 1 points for beating Wordle Bot.
• 0 points for getting it in 4 guesses.
• -1 point for getting it in 5 guesses.
• -2 points for getting it in 6 guesses.
• -3 points for losing.
• -1 point for losing to Wordle Bot.

Well today I got it in 4 (0 points) and I lost to Wordle Bot, who somehow got this one in just 2. So that’s a -1 total score. Not good! I’m in the red!

My first guess was crazy bad, and I thought it would be a good one. 347 possible solutions left is unlucky as can be. Then again, toles helped make up what price lost, narrowing the pool down to just two. I came up with easel or sleek and went with the word I thought was more fun—rather than the word I thought was more likely. My mistake!

Unfortunately, easel was incorrect and it was sleek for the win. Wordle Bot had two choices he could make: sleek or sleep. He just flipped the coin and got the right side up. Oh well! Have a great Thursday everybody!
