Today’s Wordle #558 Hints, Clues And Answer For Thursday, December 29th

Another day, another Wordle. December 29th, to be precise. The last Thursday of 2022. We have one more Friday, one more Saturday, and then it’s a brand new year full of hope and opportunity and new beginnings.

2022 was an odd one, no doubt about it, and I can’t say I’ll be sad to see the backside of it, but it wasn’t all bad. The pandemic slowed. Some semblance of normalcy returned, though inflation is doing its level best to make life harder for everyone.

Hopefully next year will be better still, though one of my New Year’s resolutions is to not get my hopes up. Another is to solve every single Wordle, come hell or high water. Let’s do today’s!

The Answer:

Hot damn! After yesterday’s near-calamity, I’m happy with getting today’s Wordle in two—two very lucky guesses.

Lover ended up being a phenomenally lucky first guess. I suppose I was thinking of the lack of any lovers in my own life at the moment and it seemed like it might make a good guess. That certainly turned out to be the case.

I wasn’t really sure what to guess next. Wordle Bot says there were four guesses remaining after the first one, but I could only think of a couple: havoc and pivot. (Savoy and divot would also have been options but I didn’t think of them). I took a gamble on havoc and it was right! Huzzah!

I took Wordle Bot three this time, so I count this as a double win.
