Today’s Wordle #534 Hints, Clues And Answer For Monday, December 5th

My Sunday was not quite as lazy and relaxing as I had hoped it would be. Chores, dogs, work. It’s always something. Such is life!

I’m not so much complaining as making an observation. If I didn’t get so behind on these things, I could arrive on Sunday with fewer obligations.

Then again, this Sunday was the also the launch of the new Fortnite chapter so I had to cover that and spend some time getting killed in the game (for research!). That took up a big chunk of Saturday and Sunday, actually.

But now that my Fortnite coverage is finished, let’s do this Wordle!

Today’s Wordle Solution (Spoilers!)

The Hint: Think of slumber and past participles.

The Clue: There are more consonants than vowels in this word.

The Answer:

Yeah, I didn’t really know how to give a hint for this one. This is a tough one! You rarely use this version of the word wake (though lord knows we hear woke often enough these days!). “They had woken early that morning, before the sun was up, and packed their clothes and precious belongings into the old station wagon.” “They were woken by the sounds of thunder, or perhaps gunshots, that night.”

In any case, I don’t even feel bad for taking five guesses today. Drape and hoist reduced my choices down to 188 and then 16. Woven was a really good guess that got me four letters in green on #3. But there was no way I was going to choose woken before women.

Wordle Bot also took five, which makes me feel better. How similar are trajectories look, though he started with slate, then diner, and then chose women before woven. Neither of us landed on woken until it was the only option remaining.

Have a great Monday, folks!
