Russian entrepreneur Vyacheslav Taran, 30-year-old Tiantian Kullander and crypto-millionaire Nikolai Mushegian are the latest three crypto bosses found dead in recent weeks. The causes of the deaths are respectively: helicopter crash, while sleeping, and by drowning
Three crypto bosses dead: the case of Vyacheslav Taran
The 53-year-old Russian crypto billionaire Vyacheslav Taran is the third cryptocurrency boss to be found dead under mysterious circumstances after his helicopter crashed near Monaco.
Indeed, it appears that this crash occurred in good weather conditions and after another passenger allegedly canceled the flight at the last minute, thus raising suspicions. For these very reasons, the deputy prosecutor from Nice, who visited the scene, said that the fault of a third party cannot be ruled out.
Taran co-founded the trading and investment platform Libertex and the Forex Club, and was flying from Lausanne with an experienced pilot in a single-engine H130 helicopter when it crashed around 1 PM on 25 November. The 35-year-old French pilot was also killed.
According to the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN, it also appears that Taran was linked to the SVR foreign spy agency, and was responsible for laundering Russian funds through a cryptocurrency operation. However, the sources of this news have not been revealed.
Three crypto bosses dead: the case of Tiantian Kullander and Nikolai Mushegian
Within a few weeks, before the news of Taran’s death, 2 other cryptocurrency bosses also lost their lives mysteriously.
They were 30-year-old Tiantian Kullander, who died “in his sleep” last week, and the other crypto-millionaire Nikolai Mushegian, 29, who drowned on a beach in Puerto Rico after tweeting that he feared the CIA and Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency, would kill him.
Kullander was the co-founder of Amber Group, a cryptocurrency trading platform recently valued at $3 billion. Not only that, he was also on the board of Fnatic, an e-sports organization.
Mushegian, on the other hand, was 29 years old and died on 28 October, just hours after he tweeted that he feared the CIA and Mossad would kill him. Specifically, his tweet read:
“CIA and Mossad and pedo elite are running some kind of sex-trafficking entrapment blackmail ring out of Puerto Rico and Caribbean islands. They are going to frame me with a laptop planted by my ex [girlfriend] who was a spy. They will torture me to death.”
Debunking this concern of the deceased was his own family, who reportedly stated that they did not believe there had been a murder, as the young millionaire had a history of mental health problems.
John McAfee and rumors of his faked death.
Another crypto boss found dead in Barcelona prison at the age of 75 was renowned tech entrepreneur and cryptocurrency influencer, John McAfee.
The news of his death was broken on 23 June 2021, exactly 8 months after McAfee’s arrest for alleged tax evasion.
However, after his death, investigations also began to find out the cause since suicide was claimed.
John’s wife, Janine McAfee stated early on that she did not believe her husband’s suicide, and more recently also stated that she did not believe the rumors that her husband was still alive and had faked his death.
The comment by the widow McAfee was made in response to the Netflix documentary “Running with the Devil,” which features a segment in which McAfee’s ex-girlfriend Samantha Herrera allegedly claimed that the deceased contacted her from a hideout in Texas. Information that Janice calls false.
