WWE Raw Winners And Match Card

Bobby Lashley def. Mustafa Ali

Fans chanted “that was stupid” when Seth Rollins brought up Austin Theory cashing in for a secondary title, but I didn’t know whether they were chanting at Theory or WWE Creative.

Mustafa Ali has spent most of the Triple H Era losing to Lashley and others like him.

Mustafa Ali has become the man of a thousand opportunities, and they’re always empty opportunities. Corey Graves noted Ali has the heart of a lion and the brains of a scarecrow. It was a funny line, but it also perfectly encapsulates how he’s booked.

Mia Yim def. Tamina

Mia Yim also goes by Michin. It’s Korean for “crazy.”

A pocket of fans were heard doing the “bask in his glory” chant in honor of Mia Yim’s husband Keith Lee. I wonder how many of these WWE paying customers know he left for AEW. How many of them even know there is an AEW.

Damage CTRL offered Mia Yim an invite to join them, and now that I think of them, Yim would fit in perfectly with Damage CTRL. She might even be the missing piece.

Chad Gable def. Riddle

Riddle took one hell of a back suplex from the top ropes, which was also one helluva tease before going to commercial break.

During an impressive finishing sequence, Chad Gable got the rollup victory with help from Otis and a towel.

The Miz Apologizes on MizTV

The Miz, who was wearing a cardigan like a young Mr. Rodgers, was brutalized with “what” treatments.

Johnny Gargano continues to be a snitch and a sleuth as he outed Miz for vacationing in Cabo based on his IG.

Dexter Lumis will finally get his rematch against The Miz for a WWE contract…in two weeks.

Between The Miz, Dexter Lumis and Johnny Gargano, this is a feud pitting a liar against a stalker and a snitch. I still don’t know whom I’m supposed to be rooting for.

Dominik Mysterio def. Shelton Benjamin

Dominik Mysterio continues to get heat, particularly when he attempted to run and hide behind Rhea Ripley.

Shelton Benjamin’s gimmick is basically as the old gunslinger who challenges young talent to a fight and loses. If WWE used that philosophy with its top aging stars, it would have created far more young stars.

Iyo Sky def. Dana Brooke

Dana Brooke wrestling on TV one week after Nikki Cross threw the 24/7 Championship in the trash has to be considered a moral victory. Having said that, this was essentially a showcase match for Sky.

After the match, Mia Yim (predictably) turned down Damage CTRL. Instead, she will be joining the babyfaces (Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka).

Dolph Ziggler def. Austin Theory by DQ

Austin Theory cut a formidable promo explaining that he couldn’t cash in on Roman Reigns because he had tried and been stifled in the past. Still, not only did they come off like heel excuses, it also came off as excuses from Triple H.

Kevin Patrick was talking about how failed cash-ins negatively affected careers. He said “look at where John Cena went after he failed to cash in,” which was a horrible example. John Cena was just fine after he failed to cash-in. It’s very possible Theory’s cash-in does irreparable damage, because he didn’t have John Cena credibility beforehand.

This actually ended up being a very good match, complete with “this is awesome” chants. The finish came when Austin Theory lost it and beat the hell out of Dolph Ziggler, earning him a disqualification.

Baron Corbin def. Akira Tozawa

This feud started after an obvious hustle job from Akira Tozawa against Baron Corbin and JBL in a poker game. After all those years JBL spent playing poker with APA, he should have seen this coming from a mile away.

This was a surprisingly competitive match before Baron Corbin inevitably won with the End of Days.

Seth Rollins def. Finn Balor

If Finn Balor wins the United States Championship the week after Theory sacrificed Money in the Bank for it, it’ll be the ultimate troll job.

This was the second match of the night to receive “this is awesome” chants.

After the match, Austin Theory ambushed Seth Rollins. WWE is clearly still invested in Theory, but they shot themselves in the foot with the foolish decision last week.
