On 31st October 2022, Attorney Jeremy Hogan posted on Twitter figuring the reasons for many amicus briefs which have been permitted in the Ripple legal actions. Hogan says that the amicus brief is “a friend of the court” and basically, ABs have been filed only in supreme and high level courts where only complicated problems are solved. 

He questioned that “being said, is it okay to witness several ABs in a trial-level matter? Obviously no.”

Furthermore he said that, “ The liberal permission of amicus briefs of the Judge in this very trial level matter will look to advise that she acknowledges that the problems indulged are complex, novel and that the law will impact a major group of people and/ or industry. And according to me, it is a good thing.”

The Chamber of Digital Commerce, Ripple Partner, I-Remit, Tapjets and ICAN are one of the vital players that have already filed amicus briefs in the case.

During the weekend, SpendTheBits and the Investor Choice Advocates Network (ICAN) conventionally filed their amicus briefs in order to back Ripple. 

The step was taken after Judge Torres accepted the petition by vital market players like Philip Goldstein, ICAN and SpendTheBits, to file  amicus briefs in the legal actions. The newest to look for a request to send the amicus brief in the proceedings is The Blockchain Association, which targets to propose a right explanation of the Supreme Court’s Howey test in order to back Ripple.
