Ever wish you could just sweep up those beautiful Pinterest tablescape photos and just instantly become a picture perfect host? It will soon be (mostly) possible in New York. While social media isn’t reality, two digital lifestyle brands are partnering to help those in a hosting mood with their inspiration and shopping needs before the holidays.
Dine by Design, a new event by Apartment Therapy in partnership with Pinterest will take place from November 2 through 13 at the new Showfields location in Williamsburg.
The shoppable installation will highlight tabletops by ten of the country’s top designers and the showcase is completely free and open to the public.
Located at 187 Kent Avenue in Brooklyn, the Pinterest-in-real-life experience will be daily from noon to 7 p.m., complete with shopping, soirees and of course, plenty of hosting inspo to Pin.
Massive banquet tables will serve as canvases for the ten selected designers, who will each curate a two-person holiday place setting of dinnerware, cutlery, glasses, and accouterments based on an assigned trend and their signature style. Visitors can use QR codes to shop the products as well as get a glimpse at the designer’s own inspiration Pinterest boards. It’s part gallery, part creative escape, part boutique.
The designer lineup includes Rayman Boozer’s Gilty Pleasure (metallics meet sumptuous fabrics and high-end detailing), Virginia Chamlee’s Vintage Vibes (quirky, eclectic, one-of-a-kind), Kamili Bell Hill’s Boho Flair (plants, macramé, free-spirited touches), Tommy Lei’s Moody Masterpiece (dark colors, lush fabrics, a Dutch masters’ painting come to life, Shannon Maldonado’s New Wave ‘80s (primary colors, abstract shapes, postmodern mashup), Amber Mayfield’s Monochrome Mix (one color — but anything but boring), Miles Willis McDermott’s Supergraphic Regency (black, white, and mod all over), Noz Nozawa’s Celestial Chic (outer Space-inspired, star-studded, otherworldly), Eddie Ross’s To The Max (patterns on patterns, colorful, maximalist), and Mat Sanders’ Natural Selection (organic modern, textured, earthy elegance)
The tablescapes are just calling out for some guests, but so far, the events held in the museum-like space will be invite only for industry insiders.
