Super Micro Computer Inc.

shares jumped 17% to $64.88 in after-hours trading Wednesday after the company issued preliminary financial information for the first quarter above its prior guidance.
The server and computer products manufacturer said it expects sales of $1.78 billion to $1.82 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up from its prior range of $1.52 billion to $1.62 billion.
Super Micro guided for adjusted earnings between $3.05 to $3.20 a share, compared to its prior view for $2.07 to 2.32 a share.
Super Micro said it anticipates the results due to customer design wins and total information technology solution value.
