Flipkart recently announced entering a partnership with eDAO to conduct a digital treasure hunt. This hunt will run on Firedrops, Flipkart’s KYC-compliant NFT platform.
The collaboration will see Flipkart attracting more customers towards its much-anticipated The Big Billion Days sale. The hunt will go on for 10 days right before the sale commences, from September 17 to September 26.
As a Polygon-based organization, eDAO designs and releases global media, entertainment, and art IPs into Web3. On the other hand, Firedrops is a recently-launched platform resulting from Flipkart’s partnership with Nothing.
The Indian eCommerce giant expressed its intentions of exploring the metaverse and digital collectibles with the release of Flipkart Labs. The platform aims to redefine the shopping experience for users, helping them learn about blockchain.
Naren Ravula, Flipkart’s VP and Head of Product Strategy & Development, talked about the recent announcement. According to Ravula, Flipkart has always focused on bringing innovation across the digital commerce domain. The company is now focusing on driving engagement to The Big Billion Days sale beyond the spectrum of discount-led contracts and sales.
The collaboration with eDAO will help the company explore a new avenue while proposing more value to the customers, added Ravula.
During the treasure hunt, users can access exclusive collectibles called Cultural Sparks via a gamified interface. They must complete daily tasks to earn rewards from Flipkart-sponsored brands. The more a user goes further in the 10-day hunt, the more rewards they collect.
Once the treasure hunt wraps up, customers can access The Strand, eDAO’s entry point to a worldwide pop culture ecosystem. The Strand spans sports, entertainment, gaming, and more industries.
Both eDAO and Flipkart teams thoroughly prepare to ensure the partnership helps users enter the Web3 and metaverse domain.
