He made his mainstream breakthrough in 2018 on Cardi B’s “I Like It.” In 2020 and 2021 he was the most-streamed artist globally on Spotify, and last year he was the fifth most-streamed artist on the platform in the U.S. The Puerto Rican singer’s success has continued as he branched into movies, starring in last month’s Bullet Train alongside Brad Pitt. The 28-year-old became the first non-English language singer to win the Artist of the Year award at MTV’s VMA awards in August.
