Cigna shares up 1.7% premarket after Q2 earnings beat

rose 1.7% in premarket trade Thursday, after the health care services company beat earnings estimates for the second quarter. Cigna posted net income of $1.981 billion, or $4.90 a share, for the quarter, up from $1.808 billion, or $4.25 a share, in the year-earlier period. Adjusted per-share earnings came to $6.22, ahead of the $5.49 FactSet consensus. Revenue rose to $45.480 billion from $43.131 billion, also ahead of the $44.486 billion FactSet consensus. The company said customer relationships rose 3% in the year to date to 191.3 million. Shares are up 18% in the year to date, while the S&P 500
