, Powerhouse Hobbs in action after he turned on Ricky Starks from last week, Matt Hardy vs. Christian Cage and an interview with Jon Moxley.

Last week’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite garnered 976,000.

Jay Lethal def. Orange Cassidy

Just as Satnam Singh was walking out, the Best Friends answered in with Trent on Chuck Taylor’s shoulders wearing a giant overcoat. Surprisingly, Singh backed down instead of just shoving one off the other.

Sonjay Dutt was hilarious during the post-match promo, and Wardlow’s “welcome to Wardlow’s world” line feels so out of place in AEW.

The Undisputed Elite Turns on The Young Bucks

Adam Cole cut a promo about loyalty, which may not age well once his contract is up and Triple H comes calling.

The Undisputed Elite abruptly turned on The Young Bucks, prompting an instantly timeless angle where a child was crying in the crowd.

The Undisputed Elite’s turn prompted Adam Page coming out to make the save, and it seems that The Young Bucks and Page have been united for the time being. To be honest, both The Undisputed Elite’s heel turn and the Undisputed Elite’s apparent reunion seem rushed.

Backstage, and ever the heel, Christian noted how Jungle Boy brought up his divorce and he would “never bring up somebody’s personal life.”

Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter def. ThunderStorm

This seemed like an actual women’s tag team match, especially among Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter who wore matching gear.

All four women worked their asses off and had a pretty good tag team match. Fans made dueling chants for Thunder Rosa and DMD throughout.

They went and made those ThunderStorm t-shirts, only for AEW to immediately tease a split as Toni Storm accidentally hit ThunderRosa with the running hip attack. ThunderStorm is beginning to give me “Y2AJ” vibes.

Powerhouse Hobbs def. Ren Jones

Prior to this match starting, Taz announced that Team Taz was done.

After a quick victory, Ricky Starks hit the ring almost quicker than the entire match. For his troubles, he was hit with a spinebuster. There was a lot of heat for this angle.

After kicking off last week’s broadcast with Jim Ross, AEW went back to their format of bringing on Jim Ross for the second hour.

Christian Cage def. Matt Hardy

After months of Christian Cage finessing his way out of wrestling, he finally competed in a full-length match against Matt Hardy, and the two continue to have good chemistry.

Hardy’s bald spot was in danger of becoming a trending topic, similar to Chris Jericho a few weeks back, and it may be time to consider shaving his head.

After Jungle Boy was ejected from the building, Luchasaurus came to Matt Hardy’s rescue only for Jungle Boy to sneak back into the building. Jungle Boy wore a t-shirt that read “Christian is a p—y.”

Ethan Page Lets Loose

Ethan Page cut a fiery promo about how he deserves better. Stokely Hathaway walked to the ring and Page completely ignored him. Hathaway whispered something in Page’s ear and gave Page his business card. Clearly, Hathaway is building a team. Who knows what this is about, could Big Stoke be building a team to invade NXT?!

The Acclaimed def. The Gunn Club

This match started impromptu as The Acclaimed jumped The Gunn Club. Thankfully, Caster still got to rap. Max Caster, who did not disappoint with the line “make them retire like Vince McMahon.”

This was every bit the wild brawl it was on paper. The Gunn Club was zip-tied in the dumpster, and after struggling to shove the dumpster off the stage a la the New Age Outlaws in 1998, The Acclaimed were able to get it back on track. Upon landing, the dumpster tipped upside down.

Chris Jericho def. Wheeler Yuta

Whether or not they actually believed Wheeler Yuta could win this match, fans were firmly behind Yuta throughout. Fans did pop, however, when Yuta tapped out to the Lion Tamer.

Yuta will do more to hurt the rating than help it in a main event, but these sacrifices are needed to build a star, which is exactly what they’re doing with Wheeler Yuta.
