Ric Flair’s alleged last match took place at Starrcast V from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium on July 31, 2022. In addition to another retirement match from arguably the greatest in-ring performer of all time, Ric Flair’s last match was filled with crossover matchups featuring talent from WWE, AEW, MLW, AAA and IMPACT Wrestling.

Flair’s last match also featured countless cameos from pro wrestling luminaries such as Jerry “The King” Lawler, Cody Rhodes, Jerry Jarrett, The Undertaker and Mick Foley (together), Michelle McCool, Sting and Diamond Dallas Page.

Promoted by Conrad Thompson, creator of Starrcast and Flair’s son-in-law, Flair’s last match was originally scheduled for the Nashville Fairgrounds, but was moved to the bigger Nashville Municipal Auditorium after ticket sales approached 10,000.

Beginning at 4:00 PST (with a 3:05 PST pre-show), the “Flair’s Last Match” card blazed through eight matches in two hours before Flair’s big match.

The main event pitted Flair and Andrade against Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Team Flair was victorious as Flair pinned an unconscious Jeff Jarrett with a Figure 4 leg lock after knocking him out with a pair of brass knuckles.

Ric Flair’s Last Match Results and Details

As the only WWE employee working a match on this card, Jeff Jarrett received a big-time entrance befitting of SummerSlam. He even used his vintage “My World” theme.

Jarrett really got into it with one particular fan, but thankfully the resurfacing Doug Dellinger was there to break it up. Flair even shoved his podcast host Conrad Thompson.

Kid Rock appeared ringside, but sadly, there was no sign of Trash Tammy.

Flair, who walked out wearing the original WCW Big Gold Belt, went with a white robe with this match, like he already said he would. The key is, the color “white” was +600 odds, so anybody who saw that press conference was essentially entitled to free money. Flair wrestled with a purple tank top that matched his purple trunks, knee pads and boots.

Longtime former WWE referee Mike Chioda, not “Lil’ Naitch” Charles Robinson, officiated Flair’s last match.

Surprisingly, Flair started this match alongside Jeff Jarrett instead of building up to a hot tag. At 73 years of age, however, Flair’s age and speed at this stage in his career is not really conducive to a hot tag and comeback.

Fans showered Flair with very generous “you still got it” chants early in the match as Flair struggled to get to his feet. Flair rewarded them, however, with an impressive headlock takedown on Jay Lethal.

Jarrett’s world-renowned punches looked as crisp as ever, and he was showered with boos while delivering a flurry of them to Andrade.

Aside from an entertaining exchange between Andrade and Jay Lethal, Flair and Jarrett did a whole lot of posturing in the first five minutes of this match, which felt more like 10.

Flair’s chops looked very tame, though Lethal and Jarrett did their best to sell them.

Ric Flair was the first to bleed in this match, a prop bet that opened at +175. This immediately led to more heat for the heels and chants of “Nature Boy!”

After Mike Chioda took a ref bump, there was a golden opportunity for “Lil’ Naitch” Charles Robinson to sprint down the aisle like he did at WrestleMania 24—the site of Flair’s WWE retirement match. Instead, “Super Dave” Miller ran down to make the count as Flair pinned Jeff Jarrett wit ha Figure 4 following a punch with brass knuckles.

Following the match, Ric Flair exchanged words with The Undertaker, Mick Foley and Bret Hart, who were all ringside.

In a post-match promo, an emotional Ric Flair vowed this was his last match and said he didn’t remember half of the match. Then he closed by saying he’s going downtown with Kid Rock tonight.
