Topline
Singer Adele announced Monday the rescheduled dates of her Las Vegas residency, which she canceled in January only one day before it was supposed to start.
Key Facts
The new Weekends With Adele shows will take place at the Colosseum from November to March.
The 24 canceled shows have been rescheduled, and eight more have been added.
People who previously purchased tickets to the canceled shows, or those who had been waitlisted when trying to do so, will be given priority when buying tickets.
In her announcement, Adele said she was “heartbroken” to have to cancel the initial shows, which she called a “horrible decision on my part,” though she promised fans it was “the right one.”
Key Background
Adele released her latest album 30 in November. Her residency was scheduled to start on January 21. But on January 20, the “Rolling In The Deep” singer took to Instagram to break news of the cancellation to fans. “My show ain’t ready. We’ve tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid,” she said. In July, Adele told BBC Radio she wasn’t “going to just do a show because I have to or because people are going to be let down or because we’re going to lose loads of money.” The decision to cancel left her as “a shell of a person for a couple of months” and she had to “grieve the shows and get over the guilt, but it was brutal.”
