Well, June is almost over and what a month it’s been. They say time flies when you’re having fun, but I think it just flies.
I mean, I spent half of this month with COVID-19 which wasn’t very fun, but I also had some great backyard parties with friends, enjoyed some lovely monsoon weather (which will hopefully help prevent further wildfires) and on balance it’s been a pretty decent month.
Wordle continues to dip in popularity as the weeks go by. I can tell based on how much traffic these guides get, and we’re way down from the heady days of February when just about every Wordle post was doing six-figure pageviews.
C’est la vie. I’m still enjoying my daily Wordle. Let’s take a look at today’s!
Today’s Wordle #374 Hint & Answer
As always, spoilers lay ahead. Consider yourself warned.
First, a hint: You might describe someone with a dry sense of humor using this word.
And the answer is . . .
This one definitely had me stumped for a little while, despite having a very lucky first guess. Hoard got me three letters in yellow. According to WordleBot, this guess typically narrows possible solutions down to 130. Today, however, I cut them down to just 14.
Drone was a ‘wonderful choice’ and narrowed things down even further, leaving me with just five remaining solutions. That’s the trouble with a word like today’s—there are so many different ways it could go.
Droop narrowed things down to just 3 solutions, thankfully, though at this point I was pretty stuck for a good while. Turns out the three remaining solutions were droit, dross and droll.
Lucky for me, I guessed droll and got this one in four. Any of these three words would be pretty difficult. Dross is a worthless word (heh) and droit? How is that a possible solution? Who even uses droit anymore?
Ah well, the harder the better I say. Wordle is often much too easy.
