A’ja Wilson Leads Fan Voting For 2022 WNBA All-Star Game

On Friday, the WNBA announced the leading voter getters of the fan vote for the 2022 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game in Chicago. The 2020 league MVP and Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson leads all players with 21,688 votes. The 2019 league MVP Breanna Stewart collected 20,866 votes as of Friday.

Candace Parker (17,475), Kelsey Plum (17,158), and Elena Delle Donne (13,626) round out the top five as voted on by the fans. Plum is the only player in the top five to have never been named WNBA MVP.

Voting Process

Current WNBA players and a media panel (including your truly) will also tally votes for the 2022 WNBA ALl-Stars. The fan vote carries the most weight at 50%. The player and media vote will count for 25% each. Fans are given the opportunity to vote once every 24 hours until Monday, June 20 at 11:59 pm ET.

Once all votes from fans, media, and players are tallied and weighted, the WNBA will announce 10 All-Star starters and the two captains – the two player with the most fan votes – on Wednesday, June 22. The WNBA head coaches will vote for three guards, five frontcourt players and four players at either position regardless of conference to serve as All-Star reserves. These 12 players will be announced on Tuesday, June 28.

ESPN will broadcast the WNBA All-Star Team Selection Special on Saturday, July 2 at 3 p.m. ET. The AT&T WNBA All-Star 2022 will take place at Wintrust Arena on Sunday, July 10 (ABC, noon CT/1 p.m. ET).

How to cast a Fan vote:

  • Online: vote.wnba.com on a desktop or mobile device.
  • WNBA App: Fans can visit the WNBA All-Star Voting ballot page via the menu options in the top left corner of the App. The WNBA App is available for free from the AppleAAPL
    App Store or Google Play.
  • Twitter: Fans may tweet, retweet, or reply with a hashtag of a WNBA player’s first and last name (#FirstNameLastName) or Twitter handle. Tweets must include the WNBA All-Star hashtag – #WNBAAllStar – in order to be valid. Fans may submit a maximum of 10 unique player valid votes per Twitter handle every 24 hours.
