The Metaverse Will Feature The Infinite Machine A Film About Ethereum And Vitalik Buterin

  • The creative team announced in April of this year that the film would be produced by Oscar-nominated director Ridley Scott, who is best known for films like Blade Runner and Gladiator. The Infinite Machine is a film based on the book by Camilla Russo, a financial journalist and cryptocurrency expert.
  • The main goal of this NFT collection is to help fund The Infinite Machine movie with the Ethereum community, and we’ve already taken the first step in that direction, said Russo.
  • The first round, which took place in 2021, was a big success, with the first edition mint selling out in just 28 hours and raising $670,000. The second round was also a success, with 39.54 percent of the collected being coined, totaling 412.75 ETH raised. In the coming months, the project will perform its third round of NFT issues.

The Infinite Machine, an ongoing full-feature film project, intends to recreate the tale of Ethereum, the world’s second-largest digital asset, and its inventors. Versus Entertainment, one of the producing companies, recently stated that Decentraland and Lumiere were on board to host the movie in the metaverse, with the picture set to become the first-ever NFT-financed film.

A Crypto-Thriller

The creative team announced in April of this year that the film would be produced by Oscar-nominated director Ridley Scott, who is best known for films like Blade Runner and Gladiator. The Infinite Machine is a film based on the book by Camilla Russo, a financial journalist and cryptocurrency expert. The author describes the colorful and often haphazard exploits of a group of hippy-anarchists who are grudgingly led by an ambivalent visionary to create a super-charged, global network in this fast-paced read.

The controversial co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, relates the story of how, as a phenomenally gifted nineteen-year-old, he persuaded a crack group of coders to join him in his quest. Buterin first proposed the platform in 2013, and it went live in 2015 with eight co-founders, including Gavin Wood and Charles Hoskinson, who eventually founded Polkadot and Cardano, respectively.

The plot follows the platform’s brilliant innovation and reckless greed, as well as the consequences of the frenzy as it grew—increased regulatory scrutiny, burgeoning Wall Street interest, and the founding team’s efforts to scale the Ethereum platform sufficiently to make it accessible to the general public.

Shyam Madiraju will write and direct the film, with Scott Free’s Ridley Scott, Tom Moran, and Vera Meyer producing alongside Versus Entertainment’s Alejandro Miranda. According to the production timeline, the movie’s script should be completed by the third quarter of this year.

It’s a dream come true to have Ridley Scott and the Scott Free team produce The Infinite Machine alongside us. I can’t think of a finer group to adapt the gripping tale about the people behind the most revolutionary invention since the internet into a feature film that will captivate the hearts of our age, Russo exclaimed.

Because the producers are funding much of the process by selling an NFT Collection, the film intends to be the first totally NFT-funded feature film. The collection in question is a vibrant investigation of Ethereum logos that is the result of 36 rising artists from Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, Kenya, Australia, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Honduras, India, Mexico, Spain, and the United States working together.

Each artist developed a painting that included 10 different variations of the Ethereum logo, as well as their vision for Ethereum and decentralization values. Each interpretation of the ETH logo was then divided into four quadrants and procedurally joined, yielding 10,499 unique ETH logo mosaics that reflect the budding artists’ collective perspectives.

The sales goal for The Infinite Machine NFT collection is to use Ethereum’s underlying technology to promote artists in emerging nations whose voices could benefit from amplification in the NFT arena, as well as to support the making of the movie. NFT holders will have the opportunity to get movie-related benefits tied to their NFTs, as well as future airdrops as development progresses.

The NFT Collection Will Be Used To Help Fund The Film

The main goal of this NFT collection is to help fund The Infinite Machine movie with the Ethereum community, and we’ve already taken the first step in that direction, said Russo. However, this project is also about supporting artists who live in oppressive regimes and can benefit the most from decentralization, and I’m extremely proud that this initial sale is already having a big impact on their lives.
