Stani Kulechov, the founder of Aave (AAVE) witnessed a suspension of his Twitter account following his joke regarding becoming an interim CEO for the company.
Did Twitter Fail To See The Hidden ‘Pun Intended’?
He Tweeted on Thursday highlighting, Breaking, Joining Twitter as Interim CEO which was apparently a joke. And Kulechov’s account’s suspension came following this after a day. Apparently, his Tweet created a confusion for the folks as to whether he was serious or just kidding.
According to a statement by the Aave founder, he highlighted Twitter recently bought by Elon Musk has chosen to suspend his account. Further adding that the move underlines the centralized ownership of content creation.
The ban was drawn up Thursday itself, and Kulechov tweeted signifying that he is back as the interim CEO of Twitter.
Earlier this week, the Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that he had a deal to acquire the social media for $44 Billion. Supposedly, Musk has an intention to focus on facilitating free speech by developing a digital town square where everyone can express their opinions.
This move was an ironic one as it stands in contrast to the free speech concept. It seems like the company took the joke as seriously, and took an instant move to ban Aave’s founder account.
Terms like Free Speech, Decentralisation, etc have become a topic of heated debates in the modern world. And the presence of social media just adds up to it. It is to look forward as to if Musk’s Twitter ownership would prove true to the notion of free speech or not.
