Recently, Takaaki Ansai, CEO of the metaverse infrastructure platform Ethanim, expressed his views on Web3.0 and metaverse, “Compared to the Web 1.0 and Web 2.0, the changes brought by Web 3.0 will be disruptive. The development of blockchain technology provides technical support for the application of Web 3.0. Web 3.0 will bring a transparent and credible Internet economic model, achieve a breakthrough in production relations and make users be the real masters of the Internet. The characteristics of Web 3.0 will give endless imagination to the metaverse and make metaverse applications more colorful.
Looking back to 2021, both Web 3.0 and metaverse are among the top 10 technology hot words. While Web 3.0 is not clearly defined, its own characteristics are already considered to be the next era of the Internet: a decentralized network running on the blockchain. In fact, the concept of Web 3.0 was proposed by Dale Dougherty, vice president of an American computer information book publishing company O’Reilly Media, as early as 2001. Later, it was promoted and developed by Tim Berners-Lee, the father of the World-Wide Web.
Until 2014, the concept of Web 3.0 related to blockchain technology was reintroduced by Gavin Wood, the co-founder of Ethernet. Last year, under the upsurge of metaverse, Web 3.0 received more and more attention and its related projects rose rapidly with the support of many funds. At present, the industry applications based on Web 3.0 cover a wide range of fields such as finance, games, collaboration, and social networking.
“The reason why Web3.0 has exploded in the last two years is mainly because of the development of blockchain technology. Web3.0 runs based on a decentralized system. The blockchain technology in distributed storage, decentralization, information encryption, tokenization of data rights and other characteristics, not only solves the security risks of data structure transmission but also solves the problems of user data privacy and data right confirmation.” Takaaki Ansai said. “Web 3.0 will break the data monopoly of traditional Internet giants and return the ownership of user data to users. This model provides an incentive for everyone to participate in the development of the Internet and receive the corresponding rewards. Ethanim‘s core component, the Reliable State Machine (RSM), also adopts this model. Any node user is allowed to participate in the trusted state validation of RSM, protect the Ethanim metaverse ecological security and receive node validation rewards.”
