Long time Foo Fighters Drummer Taylor Hawkins has died at the age of 50. No further details or cause of death have surfaced at this time, the tragic news comes from Foo Fighters’ social media pages where the band has posted the following statement:
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
The drummer is survived by his wife and three children.
According to Rolling Stone, Foo Fighters are currently in South America and were gearing up to perform at the Colombian held festival, Festival Estéreo Picnic in Bogotá.
Taylor Hawkins joined the world renown rock band Foo Fighters in 1997 and has since been a member throughout the last two decades. Hawkins played an integral role in Foo Fighters, more over the rock community, and time and again has been referenced as one of the greatest modern rock drummers. Apart from Foo Fighters, Hawkins has performed in a number of bands and projects from Coheed And Cambria, Nancy Wilson (solo album 2021), and his own solo project Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders.
