Here’s today’s Wordle #275 solution plus a helpful hint.
There have been some pretty tricky Wordle words of the day lately. I guessed today’s in just two guesses, but I was wildly lucky.
Sometimes that’s all you can do in life—and in Wordle: Trust to luck, hope for the best and guess away. I almost missed Saturday’s word, getting the correct answer on my sixth and final guess. Today’s isn’t really any easier, but I got it in two. Go figure!
Of course, it’s not just luck. There are helpful strategies you can employ to get the correct answer every time, including picking the best starting words. Then again, my starting word today only got me one correct letter and I still got it in two.

Like I said, I got lucky. I guessed clean because it has a lot of good common letters in it, but only got one green box out of it.
I very nearly guessed sheet next, then waffled between that and sheep and finally decided that guessing a double ‘E’ this early on was a bad idea. So I went with a TH instead and the first word I thought of was their.
And voila! presto! that was that.
